Six Astonishing Nature Travel Experiences

·

It seems everybody is talking about environmentalism, doesn’t it? But there is a concrete reason behind it. We need to care for nature on an immediate basis; hence, the brouhaha around environmentalism.

Now, travel is usually considered contrary to what’s good for Mother Earth. And a part of it is, too! But we can learn to offset our environmental impact with Nature Travel even as we try to fulfil our desire of visiting novel places.

With this thought, we bring to you awesome Nature Travels:

Botanical Gardens in Australia

It is quite easy to lose yourself in the Botanical Gardens in Australia. In such Gardens, you discover, learn & enjoy everything plant – related. Here, there are no skyscrapers or city noises but only miles of flora & greenery, and quite a few visitors.

The Botanical Gardens are centres of horticultural beauty & education with their communities carrying out research & action for plant conservation.

Climate Change Evidence in Italy

Experience the effect of global warming by taking a tour to Venice, Italy. The city is bizarrely stunning – with its islands, canals, bridges, mazes, footpaths, squares, museums & churches. But all is not well here!

Venice is predicted to disappear beneath the sea by 2100 AD! The lowest spot of Venice, St. Mark’s Basin, is predicted to vanish by 2050, in the worst case scenario of sea level rise – 3 feet 11 inches!! (Courtesy European Geosciences Union)

Thus, Venice provides the evidence that rising sea levels are real and consequently of climate change. A global battle to tackle the rising seas can bring approaches & technologies to save Venice from disappearing.

Explorations in Hawaii

Almost all the places we visited in Hawaii ended up becoming our favourites. Postcard – worthy views, volcanos, crystal clear waters, unique birds – this group of islands is most certainly a paradise for those who love being close to nature.

Unfortunately, even Hawaii is threatened by rising ocean levels.

Game Safaris in Kenya

Africa is where it all began! And if you want to get close with nature, there is no better way than to go on a game safari in Kenya. A wildlife safari is NOT the same thing as visiting a zoo. On a safari, you get close to animals in their natural habitat & that is SURREAL.

For an even more intimate wildlife experience, stay at one of the many camps and lodges inside the reserves. Check out our earlier blog posts on Kenya here & here.

There is also Tanzania & South Africa where you can go on game drives as well as volunteer. Such personal adventures give you the opportunity to see how wildlife ecosystems are sustained.

Himalayas in India

You cannot think ‘nature’ or ‘environment’ without thinking of the Himalayas. Skip the overcrowded cities and head to the villages to have an authentic, traditional experience. Needless to say, the vistas are more heavenly too.

We have always found the locals incredibly warm. All our interactions with them have been unforgettable. You can undertake ecotourism by participating in projects like constructing solar-powered homes.

Many communities in the Himalayas are switching from modern ways of living. It is, thus, a good learning experience to create an eco-friendly lifestyle.

Sacred Monkey Forest Sanctuary in Indonesia

Bali needs no introduction on the tourism map, but most visitors choose the beaches and temples over the forests and animals. The Monkey Forest Sanctuary in Ubud is a tour you must not miss! Ubud itself is the centre of art and tradition; once you have explored all of that, do head to the Monkey Forest to get really close to Balinese long-tailed macaque monkeys in their natural habitat.

You can add a grand finale to this by enjoying a lunch overlooking the rice terraces.

Conclusion

Of course, the above is not an exhaustive list by any stretch of imagination. There is no single way to experience Nature Travel. But we would urge you to make Nature Travel a part of your sightseeing. We guarantee you that your eyes will pop, your jaw will drop & your heart will race.

After all, Mother Earth is the best content creator!
